Some Useful Feline Advice Presented By Funny Cats

Cats are amazing creatures. Anyone who has read Rudyard Kipling’s story called ‘The Cat That Walked By Himself’ will understand the complexity of their personalities. One moment they are all over you, purring and rubbing, and the next they are aloof, cool and untouchable. Here’s some funny advice from funny cats!

A vet is a horrible person that works in a place that smells. This is where you get taken if you are ill. When your owner comes towards you with the carrier, run away and hide. When they do catch you, splay your legs and struggle with all your might.

During the trip to the vet, you must meow the whole time. If you are able to force your claws through the bars of the carrier, give your owner a quick scratch. When you get to the vet, push your body right back inside the carrier with your legs splayed out.

At home when it’s medicine time, run the moment you hear the pill bottle rattling. Your owner might wrap you tightly in a towel while trying to get your mouth open. You can easily squirm your way out and run away again. Eventually your owner will win, but you can get your own back. Throw up on a chair or, better still, the oriental rug.

Waking up a sleeping human is a great game. Leap onto the bed and trample all over him or her while purring and meowing sweetly. If this doesn’t work, try something more drastic. Clatter the blinds, knock over some pictures or sharpen your claws robustly on the bed. You will eventually win!

When guests arrive, quickly work out which one hates cats. Get onto that lap as fast as possible. The guest who likes cats should be treated with disdain and aloofness. Do not succumb no matter how sweetly they call you. If they persist, a sharp nip to the ankle or a quick scratch on a pair of stockings will do the trick. Whenever a guest needs to use the toilet, follow him or her in, and then just sit and stare.

Lastly, if you want to show love to your owners, a gift will be appreciated. Present them with a disemboweled garden snake, a frog or a rodent. Their delight will be evident by their facial expressions.

Matters To Consider To Make Sure Your Pet Is Happy And Healthy Whilst You Are Absent On Holiday

Don’t let your holiday be spoilt by worrying about the pet you left behind. Whatever worries you might have should be lessened by the following advice.

At last, as June is here, summer holidays are no longer a distant and vague dream. However, some owners may be preoccupied with worries over pet health care for their furry friends while they are jetting off somewhere hot.

During your absence your pet can be left with a friend, left at home with a sitter or left to board at a kennel or cattery.

Whichever of these methods you choose, the suggestions below should relieve you of some of your concerns.

The choice of cattery or kennel.

When selecting a facility to take care of your precious pet dog or cat, it might be worth making sure you are fully versed with the procedures and practices involved in the centre. Visiting the site plenty of times before you leave your furry friend behind could help put your mind at rest about where your companion will be spending its holiday and educate you about the various ways of working the staff have. Getting to know the people who will be caring for your pet, asking them about emergency protocol and the sort of food, exercise and attention your animal will receive on a daily basis is also advisable. Never leave your pet anywhere you have doubts about. Some facilities even have special pet webcams which allow you to see your pooch or moggy playing and relaxing, so why not enquire about this?

Finding a sitter?

Before you go you should spend some time with your pet and its carer, whether the carer is just a friend or a hired professional. By doing this you will allow the pet and its carer to get to know each other and provide yourself with the corresponding reassurance.

What to leave behind.

Whilst you are away it’s reassuring if you know that the carer knows about your pet’s habits, preferences and peculiarities as well as its medical history and who to contact in the event of an emergency. Ensure that your pet insurance details are within the documents supplied. Think hard – things you may take for granted, such as knowing your animal does not like to be bothered while it is eating, could be something useful for its carer so make sure you make a note of such matters.

Provide your pet with the reassurance of having some familiar item that smells of you and home.

Making separation easy.

ASPCA, the American cat and dog rescue organisation, claims that when the owner leaves, many animals, particularly dogs, can become distressed. Everyone concerned with your dog will be disturbed and upset if the dog’s distress displays itself in the form of physical symptoms or destructive behaviour. Pet health care experts at the association recommend getting any tics – such as nervous urination – checked out at the vets before leaving to rule out any biological issues. Take the professionals’ advice and avoid upsetting your pet by subjecting him to an emotional and dramatic greeting or farewell. Bearing this in mind, you should avoid upsetting your pet and leave without undue fuss.
